Barcelona experienced their worst-ever defeat in Europe courtesy of a 8-2 drubbing by Bayern Munich in their Champions League quarter-final on Friday night in Lisbon.
Barca's ignominy was further compounded when Philippe Coutinho, who they loaned out to Bayern, assisted Robert Lewandowski's 82nd-minute goal before finishing off the Bavarians' majestic victory with the two final goals during an exhilarating 15-minute performance that put his underwhelming 18-month stint in Catalonia further behind in the rear-view mirror.
As if that weren't enough, what followed next, of course, was a fresh round of jeering from social media, as a stunned Twitterati expressed their feelings throughout the night.
