Moved to Augusta, Ga., as an infant. Attended high school (Hephzibah High) and college (Augusta State) there and still resides near his parents.

Honorable Mention All-American during his senior season at Augusta State University. Teammate with Richard Johnson, who was No. 1 on the 2007 Korn Ferry Tour money list.
