Played collegiately for three seasons, beginning his career at Texas Tech University (2011-12) before transferring and playing two seasons at Tulsa University (2012-14) and electing to turn professional following his junior campaign. Earned two All-Conference USA laurels at Tulsa, receiving first-team recognition in 2014, and a second-team honor in 2013. Won once as an individual as a junior at Tulsa.
