Favorite college team is LSU, and favorite pro team is the New Orleans Saints.

Earned all-state honors in basketball twice and was invited to the Louisiana All-Star game (didn't play due to injury). Baton Rouge's The Advocate named him its High School Athlete of the Year as a junior in 2006. Averaged 21.6 points per game during his senior season and holds Episcopal High School's all-time record for three-pointers in a season.

Was a two-time All-American at LSU, was named to the All-SEC team as a freshman and was on the All-SEC Honor Roll all four years at LSU.

Won two individual state championships at Episcopal High School in Baton Rouge.
