Favorite sports teams are the Cincinnati Bengals (NFL), Cincinnati Reds (MLB), and Boston Celtics (NBA).

His father, Billy Sargent, played on the 1977 Georgetown College tennis team which was inducted into the school's Hall of Fame in 2007.

Earliest golf memory was, around age 4, going to the course for high school practices with his dad, who was the golf coach at that time.

Played collegiately for five seasons at Western Kentucky University (2014-19), winning five events individually and earning the first All-America honor in program history with his Honorable Mention recognition in 2019.

Won the 2018 Pinetree Intercollegiate, sharing top honors with Jordan Hahn. The duo finished two strokes ahead of Stuart Easton. Began the final day three behind Hahn but caught him in the no-playoff event, shooting a final-round 65.

Two-time Mr. Kentucky Golf in high school.
