The Nepal national cricket team will square off against Hong Kong in their third Group A match of the ongoing ACC Men’s T20I Premier Cup 2024 at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground (Ministry Turf 1) on Monday, April 15. 

The Nepal vs Hong Kong ACC Men’s T20I Premier Cup 2024 match will start at 11:30 AM IST.

Led by Rohit Paudel, Nepal will head into the game after beating Qatar by 32 runs in their last match.

Electing to bat first, Nepal rode on Dipendra Singh’s unbeaten 64 off just 21 balls and wicketkeeper-batter Aasif Sheikh’s 41-ball 52 to post 210/7 in their 20 overs.

Meanwhile, Dipendra Singh Airee became the third cricketer to hit six sixes in an over in an international T20 game. The 24-year-old slammed medium-pacer Kamran Khan for six sixes to finish with 64.

Later, Lalit Rajbanshi, Gulsan Jha and Dipendra Singh bagged two wickets each to restrict Qatar to 178/9 in their allotted overs.

Earlier, Nepal started their ACC Men’s T20I Premier Cup 2024 campaign with a comprehensive five-wicket win over Malaysia at the same venue on Friday.

With four points from two matches, Nepal are currently placed on top in Group A standings.

On the other hand, the Hong Kong national cricket team will aim to continue their winning momentum after they beat Qatar by 26 runs in their opening game of the ongoing tournament.

Twin fifties from captain Nizakhat Khan (59) and Babar Hayat (55) powered Hong Kong to 201/7 in their 20 overs after opting to bat first.

Off-spinner Ehsan Khan scalped four wickets for 31 runs to restrict Qatar to 175/8.

With the win, Hong Kong are currently placed second in the Group A standings with two points.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the ACC Men’s T20I Premier Cup 2024 semi-finals. The winner of the ACC Men’s T20I Premier Cup 2024 will qualify for Asia Cup 2025.

Nepal won the inaugural edition of the ACC Men’s Premier Cup after beating United Arab Emirates by seven wickets in the 2023 final.

Nepal hold a superior head-to-head record against Hong Kong in T20 cricket, winning six of the 11 matches that they have played so far. Hong Kong registered four victories while one game ended in no result.

The Hong Kong T20I Tri-Series 2024 is scheduled to start on March 10 and run till March 13 in Kowloon, Hong Kong. 

Organised by Cricket Hong Kong (CHK), the Hong Kong T20I Tri-Series 2024 will see a total of five matches played across four days.

Hosts Hong Kong, Nepal and Papua New Guinea will compete in a tri-series in a round-robin format. The top two teams in the standings will clash in the final on March 13.

Meanwhile, the third-placed team in the standings will square off against Hong Kong A in the third-place playoff.

All matches in Hong Kong T20I Tri-Series 2024 will be played at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground. 

Currently ranked 16th in the ICC Men’s T20I team rankings, Nepal are the top-ranked side in the upcoming tri-series.

PNG are placed 19th in the rankings while Hong Kong are the lowest ranked team on the 21st spot.

Led by captain Rohit Paudel, Nepal will start as favourites, having reached the final of the recently-concluded Nepal T20I Tri-Series 2024 at home. Nepal lost to the Netherlands in the final by four wickets.

The CHK Men’s Premier League T20 2024 is scheduled to start on February 25 and run till May 5 in Hong Kong. 

Organised by Hong Kong Cricket, the CHK Men’s Premier League T20 2024 will see five teams compete in a total of 11 matches.

Hong Kong are currently ranked 21st in the ICC Men’s T20I rankings and will have their top stars feature in this tournament.

Diasqua Little Sai Wan Cricket Club, Hong Kong Cricket Club, Kowloon Cricket Club, Pakistan Association Cricket Club and United Services Recreation Club are the teams that will feature in the CHK Men’s Premier League T20 2024.

As per the schedule, each team will play the other four sides once in a single round-robin format. 

The top two teams in the standings after the 10 league matches will advance to the final to be played on May 5.

Hong Kong Cricket Club, Kowloon Cricket Club and Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground are the three venues that will host all the matches of the upcoming men’s T20 tournament.

The Hong Kong Men’s One Day Series 2024 is scheduled to start on January 31 and run till February 5 in Kowloon, Hong Kong. 

Organised by Hong Kong Cricket, as many as four teams will play five matches in Hong Kong Men’s One Day Series 2024.

Hong Kong, Canada, Malaysia and Hong Kong A are the teams that will participate in the upcoming one day tournament. 

Hong Kong, Canada and Malaysia will compete in a tri-series in a round-robin format. The top two teams in the standings will clash in the final on February 4.

Meanwhile, the third-placed team will later lock horns with Hong Kong A in a one-off clash.

All matches of Hong Kong Men’s One Day Series 2024 will be played at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground.

The Malaysia T20I Tri-Nations Cup 2023 is scheduled to start on September 19 and conclude on September 24 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Hosts Malaysia, along with Hong Kong and Papua New Guinea are the three teams that will compete in the Malaysia T20I Tri-Nations Cup 2023.

As per the schedule, each team will play the other sides twice in a double round-robin format. Every team in the T20 tournament will play four matches each. The team finishing at the top of the standings after all the six matches will claim the T20I Tri-Nations Cup.

Pakistan will lock horns with Hong Kong in a virtual knockout Group A match in Asia Cup 2022 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Friday, September 2. The match will start at 7:30 PM Indian Standard Time (IST).

Both Pakistan and Hong Kong have suffered defeats in their respective opening Asia Cup fixture against a Rohit Sharma-led Indian team. They need to win on Friday in order to qualify for the Super 4 stage.

Under captain Babar Azam, Pakistan succumbed to a five-wicket defeat against defending champions India in their first match of the tournament at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, while the Nizakat Khan-led Hong Kong produced a spirited fight but still fell short by 40 runs against the Men in Blue in Dubai on Wednesday.
